The Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation is currently scouting for a motivated individual to assist our Marketing & Communications Team The Storytelling and Digital Engagement Intern plays a key role in helping the Foundation tell powerful, digital-first stories across our platforms. From social media and video to email and website content, you’ll help share the people, programs, and impact that define the Foundation all while learning hands-on in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This is a role for someone who is curious, creative, organized, and excited to jump in wherever needed to help move the story forward.

Requirements

Where will your talents be focused?

Storytelling & Content Creation

- Help tell compelling stories across the Foundation website, social media, email, and marketing campaigns, ensuring a consistent voice and message from idea to execution.
- Support the planning, creation, and delivery of digital-first storytelling that brings moments, people, and community impact to life.
- Assist with short-form video, photo, and graphic content creation, working alongside the Marketing and Communication Coordinator and the broader Foundation team.

Social Media & Engagement

- Assist in managing and posting content across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Monitor trends, tone, and fan behaviour to help create content that connects authentically with our audience.
- Engage with donors, fans, and community members in real time, helping foster two-way conversations that reflect Foundation and club values.

Planning, Campaigns & Collaboration

- Maintain and support content calendars, ensuring storytelling aligns with campaigns, programs, partners, and key dates.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Communications, Partnerships, and Development to support integrated campaigns and initiatives.
- Assist with email marketing and website updates that highlight donors, programs, events, and community impact.

Analytics & Learning

- Use basic analytics and insights to understand what content is resonating and where storytelling can improve or evolve.
- Learn how data and audience behaviour inform content strategy and creative decisions.

Administrative & Team Support

- Provide light administrative and coordination support to the Development team, including tracking, scheduling, and program support.
- Jump in where needed This role is about learning, contributing, and being part of a team that works together to deliver impact.

What is needed to be successful in this role?

- A student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, journalism, sport management, digital media, or a related field.
- Strong interest in storytelling, social media, and digital content.
- Comfortable using social platforms (especially Instagram and TikTok) and eager to learn more.
- Basic skills in photo, video, or graphic creation are an asset (Canva, Adobe, CapCut, etc.).
- Organized, curious, and willing to try new things.
- A team-first mindset with a passion for community, sport, and making a difference.
- Bonus points if you love giving back
