Salary: Based Upon Qualifications and Experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the earth removal of large public and private construction projects.
- Supervise crews of workers to ensure that projects proceed smoothly.
- Identify and schedule each component of the plan and assign appropriate manpower and equipment to each activity daily.
- At the outset of each day, meet with each assigned employee to clearly and effectively communicate their required personal daily activity.
- Coordinate with and direct the activity of all jobsite crews, subcontractors and material and equipment providers.
- Effectively interface with clients, inspectors, regulatory representatives, and other necessary individuals or organizations.
- At the end of each day, accurately report all jobsite time and activity, review performance-to-plan with Project Engineer and/or Project Manager, and adjust the following day’s assignments, resources, and schedules.
- Monitor all job site activity throughout the day, coordinating and balancing activity to ensure that the daily plan is achieved.
- Working from contract documents, project plan and schedules, create a weekly/daily Project Work Plan.
- Conduct work with 100% integrity and professionalism.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to review and understand plan specs and drawings.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a field environment.
- Proficient in written and verbal business communication skills.
- Ability to give and receive written or oral instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with office and field personnel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
