The Project Engineer provides engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers. The Project Engineer will also develop engineering project plans to accomplish customer requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research, ongoing development, and new business requirements.
2. Works with customers and management to obtain SOW approval.
3. Identifies and manages changes to SOW, assesses the impact of those changes, and incorporates as required.
4. Negotiates proposed changes to determine modifications to deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
5. Leads project execution to complete the work statement.
6. Identifies program performance metrics.
7. Plans, identifies and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.
8. Leads a team of up to 20 engineers, providing planning, organization, coaching, mentoring, and training.
9. Manages multiple priorities and competing tasks while prioritizing and assigning tasks and assignments to team members.
10. Works constructively with other departments and vendors to gain consensus on the best plan of attack on each program issue.
11. Communicates clearly with the engineering team, other departments, the customer and vendors as required to facilitate smooth completion of the engineering package.
12. Plans an engineering package, prepares staffing plans, anticipates critical path issues and sets a schedule to meet program schedules and budgets.
13. Provides periodic project status to upper management using the latest presentation techniques.
14. Stays on top of a program, delivers message to GTI Engineers, and serves as the focal point and conductor for all engineering activities on a particular program.
15. Delegates responsibility to achieve efficiency.
16. Evaluates and approves designs, changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
17. Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
18. Other duties as assigned.

Focusing on commercial and military aircraft, NAT provides first-class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
1. Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering or equivalent, minimum 7 years industry experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Job Requirements
1. Working knowledge of aircraft structural, interior, mechanical and electrical engineering.
2. Structural substantiation and certification.
3. Aviation background and aircraft interior experience required.
4. Ability to lead a team of up to 20 Engineers in a productive and efficient manner.
5. Ability to coach, train, and mentor a team of engineers.
6. Ability to assess team strengths and delegate work to gain maximum results.
7. Ability to work constructively with other departments and vendors.
8. Ability to prepare meeting materials and conduct design reviews as required.
9. Strong communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
10. Computer skills should include the ability to use CAD systems, spreadsheets, word processing, project scheduling and project presentation software.
11. Ability to travel as required.
