About the Role
The Company is in search of Independent Board Directors to provide strategic governance and independent oversight for its commercial and investment entities. The successful candidates will work closely with the Chief and Council, and executive leadership to support the development of a modern governance framework and ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the company's commercial enterprises.
Key responsibilities
include evaluating strategic investments, overseeing organizational performance, and contributing to sound decision-making while maintaining board independence. The company values diverse perspectives and encourages individuals with the required governance experience and business expertise to apply, particularly those with a background in Indigenous business, economic development, or community-owned enterprises. The ideal Board Directors for the company will have a strong understanding of fiduciary responsibilities, executive leadership experience, and the ability to provide oversight of financial performance and enterprise risk. A collaborative leadership style, a commitment to Indigenous values, and a genuine interest in supporting Indigenous economic prosperity are essential. The company is particularly interested in candidates with experience in civil construction, heavy industry, natural resources, or industrial services, as well as those with a clear understanding of Treaty 8 initiatives. The role requires individuals with a high level of integrity, sound business judgment, and a proactive approach to emerging business opportunities. Functions
