CTV News Vancouver seeks an experienced video-journalist and people leader to join our newsroom as our ENG Supervisor. As a member of the news leadership team, you will be a key player in our daily news operations, responsible for shooting, editing, and managing video content, including live hits. You will lead and mentor a team of digital news gatherers, maintaining the highest standards for news photography, field editing and journalism. This role requires extensive experience shooting and editing news content, conducting interviews on camera, chasing breaking news, exceptional technical and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Shooting and editing news video, interviews, and managing live feeds.
- Managing and mentoring a team of multi-skilled shooter/editors, providing training and performance management.
- Planning staffing and all technical requirements for daily news video content across all platforms.
- Ensuring high journalistic standards are consistently met by the team.
- Contributing to news planning and development of news specials.
Critical Qualifications
- Minimum five years' experience as a working video journalist in a fast-paced news environment.
- Superior videography, lighting, audio, editing, and video feed abilities.
- Proven leadership experience with a history of successful team collaboration and positive communication.
- Strong understanding of Lower Mainland news and geography.
- Experienced interviewer who can work independently.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid BC driver's license.
For work arrangements that are 'Hybrid', successful candidates must be based in Canada and report to a set Bell office for a minimum of 3 days a week. Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, Bell offers flexibility in work hours based on the business needs.
