Opportunities include half-day prenatal clinics and/or 12-24 hour call shifts for labour and delivery. We work in collaboration with a collegial hospital team including obstetricians, pediatricians, midwives and nursing colleagues. Richmond is a regular training site for third year medical students and we often have residents on rotation. Richmond is the busiest non-tertiary hospital for maternity in BC. Last year there were 1463 total births at the Richmond Hospital Birth Centre.
