Job Summary
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Avionics (experienced CL/waterbomber) is responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, assembling, troubleshooting, testing, and fabricating parts using approved data, ensuring compliance with company policies, maintaining a clean workspace, providing training to junior operators, reporting defects and improvements, completing documentation, and supporting a positive workplace culture while meeting assigned commitments and adhering to all rules and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, repair, maintenance, assembly, troubleshoot, test, and fabrication of various systems per manufacturer specifications.
- Qualified to perform systems installation tasks under the supervision of a licensed Technician in a production environment.
- Assemble and fabricate parts using drawings, task cards, and approved data, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Complete assigned tasks and verification inspections, if trained, as directed by the Lead Hand or Production Manager.
- Maintain and complete all required documentation accurately and securely.
- Ensure the shop area and tools are clean, safe, and compliant with 5S standard.
- Provide technical training to junior operators as directed.
- Update build status regularly and report defects, deviations, and work stoppages.
- Maintain efficiency, identify opportunities for improvement, and report documentation errors.
- Enforce safety practices and ensure airworthiness compliance.
- Disassemble, inspect, and recommend repairs for parts and components.
- Maintain traceability and accuracy of parts removed or installed on aircraft.
- Support targets by using resources efficiently and addressing potential issues proactively.
- Certify work performed, if authorized, within the Aircraft Maintenance Organization's scope.
- Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e., Power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required.
Education Required
- Shall hold a valid AME “E” Transport Canada License; or be eligible to be an apprentice to achieve this license
Experience, skills, and attitude required
- 1-5 years of CL experience
- Have experience with general aircraft wiring repair, fabrication and installation.
- Be skilled at following directions, both verbally and through printed instructions.
- Have basic knowledge of Standard Practices and the ability to interpret technical documents like maintenance manuals, service bulletins, schematics, and engineering orders.
- Possess a foundational understanding of aircraft systems such as hydraulics, flight controls, and major components.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet.
- The role emphasizes safety, technical proficiency, and attention to detail.
Assets
- Experience with all De Havilland Aircraft of Canada aircrafts consider an asset.
