About the Role

War Room is seeking an experienced Director, Campaigns to lead our Campaigns and Optimizations (media buying) team in driving strategic initiatives and achieving high-impact results. This role demands exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and operational excellence to increase company revenue, drive efficiency, and lead programmatic buying through innovative initiatives. The Director will be responsible for team development, stakeholder management, and alignment with the company's vision and objectives.

Please note that this is a hybrid role that requires 3 days a week in the office with the first 3 months of onboarding fully in the office. We are located at 210 W Broadway, Vancouver and our office hours are 9-5 pm.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Strategic Leadership:

1. Develop and manage Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the team to ensure alignment with company goals.

2. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).

3. Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the team and across the organization.

4. Maintain a keen awareness of current events and trends in programmatic advertising to set the direction for the team.

2. Process Creation and Optimization:

1. Create and optimize team processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

2. Implement new project management tools and streamline workflows to increase productivity.

3. Team Development:

1. Develop comprehensive development plans for each team member and enable them to grow.

2. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

3. Lead the Campaigns and Data & Reporting teams.

4. Campaign Management:

1. Ensure efficient marketing campaign development and execution.

2. Analyze gathered campaign data to develop and refine strategies for key clients (1-2 clients).

3. Ensure that campaigns are completed on time and within budget.

5. Optimization and Growth:

1. Lead optimization strategies on top accounts, identifying and leveraging growth opportunities.

2. Effectively scale up revenue for ROAS-focused clients.

6. Reporting and Analysis:

1. Build comprehensive optimization reports and provide insights and recommendations to surpass set goals.

2. Monitor daily key performance indicators to interpret data and gauge the success of initiatives.

3. Conduct deep analytical dives into data and suggest A/B tests.

4. Audit budget pacing and provide reallocation recommendations.

Skills + Experience

1. 10+ years of experience in a paid media management role, either in an agency or an in-house marketing position.
2. 4+ years of people leadership experience, experience leading leaders is required.
3. Experience with digital media planning & buying.
4. Certified on DV360, CM360, SA360, Google Analytics, Google Ads & Meta.
5. Set-up experience on Search Ads (Google, Microsoft Bing, Yahoo) & DV360.
6. Set-up experience on Meta Business Manager, CM360, and familiarity with other demand-side platforms.
7. Familiar with media & research tools like ComScore, Emarketer, etc.
8. Experienced in Google Tag Manager to understand tags and be able to identify and troubleshoot issues.
9. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, dashboards, macros, etc.).
10. Strong understanding of the ad tech landscape.
11. Capacity to work under pressure on various business verticals.
12. Excellent English communication skills (in-person, phone & email).
13. Strong attention to detail is required.
