Health & Safety Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator to perform a strategic and hands-on role by providing guidance towards the Safety program to office and shops. The successful candidate should have a passion for improving safety standards and be committed to continuous improvement. The successful candidate should provide ongoing direction and expertise that contribute to the company's safety culture, behavior, and expectation that 'all accidents are preventable.'
Key Responsibilities
1. Work with Safety Manager to ensure site compliance with all OHS regulations
2. Promote a culture of safety and prevention through programs
3. Conduct regular site safety inspections
4. Provide site safety orientations for all newcomers to the sites
5. Communicate and coordinate OH&S procedures, policies and systems on a regular basis to Team leads and Safety personnel
6. Provide information and act as a resource to the Joint Health & Safety Committee, site safety personnel and Team Leads
7. Attend to any injuries on site and provide appropriate treatment
8. Upkeep documentation required for National Safe Code in our vehicle fleet
9. Work with the Safety Manager to conduct detailed investigations, report and follow up on action items for every injury, accident or near-miss incident
10. Other general operational duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications & Abilities
1. Have a valid Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA 2) or be able to obtain the certificate within the first month of work
2. Experience within a manufacturing, processes and site safety environment is preferred
3. Available to work a variety of weekdays, including Saturdays
4. Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office)
5. Proficient in both written and spoken English, ability to communicate in Chinese is an asset
6. Good verbal and written communication skills
7. Able to travel to project sites as required from time to time
