Job Description:

This role is responsible for building and managing a small book of high net worth clients - relationships that are managed on a discretionary basis. An Associate Portfolio Manager may work singly or as part of a team with a Portfolio Manager.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

- Maintain and grow the client base by determining the appropriate portfolio structure for clients' assets mix, geographic/currency diversification and equity and fixed income styles.
- Delivery of client experience, through the completion of a Wealth Plan and the introduction to Wealth Partners.
- Consistently provide clients with expert guidance to help them achieve their overall wealth management goals in partnership with PWM colleagues.
- Keep clients well informed using a combination of face-to-face, telephone and email to achieve minimum quarterly contact with all clients.
- Develop investment strategies that are in line with the client's goals and objectives.
- When working in a team, assist the Portfolio Manager where required in the preparation of presentations, marketing and other materials for client, prospect and partner meetings when required.
- Act as a secondary contact to the Portfolio Managers where required for client relationships.
- Efficiently manage client experience through strong communication and interpersonal skills.

SHAREHOLDER

- Contribute to the achievement of business objectives by proactively managing customers, to increase profitability and enable business growth.
- Contribute to various operational activities and processes as assigned.
- Ensure necessary due diligence to support the accuracy of all customer transactions/activities.
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
- Assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct.

- Contribute to a fair, positive and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

- Undergraduate Degree.
- CFA Level 1 or above or CIM.
- 3+ years of investment experience.
- Eligible for provincial Securities Commission registration as an Associate Advising Representative (AAR).
