Description
Senior Project Manager
Our client is searching for a Senior Project Manager to join their team. This role will be responsible for being actively engaged in all site activities related to maintenance, capital projects, and turnarounds at the site. A successful candidate will focus on customer relationship management, work execution and project control, site planning and organization, and quality, health and safety, and environment policy implementation. This role is located in Kitimat, BC.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
1. Display a commitment to the company's incident-free vision, values, and culture
2. Act as the primary point of contact for all things related to the execution of the contract agreement
3. Help to build and organize a team of individuals executing routine, non-routine and campaign maintenance
4. Prioritize workload and focus on mission critical tasks
5. Exercise due diligence in review of customer contract and specifications to ensure that our internal processes and procedures are in compliance
6. Set-up and maintain project management files in accordance with departmental standards
7. Exercise due diligence in managing changes to the contract
8. Provide timely notice to customers in accordance with contractual requirements
9. Manage contract change costs through the company's system and invoice costs in a timely manner
10. Prepare, submit and update project budgets including internal cost control, forecasting and cash flow reporting
11. Ensure that customer acceptance of contract values, budget values, change values are in place to facilitate timely billing of all costs
12. Review and approve all site expenditures
13. Work with our customers to establish our planning and scheduling workflow, assisting in the preparation and maintenance of project schedules and plans
14. Administer and participate in all site coordination meetings
15. Compile data and information for historical statistical database
16. Performs estimating duties and coordinates with off-site estimating team to complete proposals
Your strengths include:
1. Post Secondary Education, Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in a related field
2. 15+ years of related construction or maintenance experience
3. 5+ years experience as a Project Manager or in a progressive supervisory role
4. Experience working with unionized labour and under collective agreements
5. Proficient with common industry software including Microsoft Office suite, Primavera etc.
6. Strong collaboration skills and an ability to exercise good judgement, aligned with our corporate values
7. Ability to communicate complex information clearly and in an appropriate style
8. Capable of identifying straightforward problems, generating possible solutions and assessing those solutions against the company's standard procedures and guidelines
9. Excellent bidding, purchasing, negotiating, contracting, and budgeting skills and knowledge
10. Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
12. Ability to prioritize a large workload
