Human Resources - Human Resources Generalist

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Generalist is responsible for the effective administration of all HR tasks for the Hanover Operations Centre. The HR Generalist is a subject matter expert in providing front-line HR customer services to employees and management in matters relating to time & attendance, recruitment, onboarding, absence management, benefits, health and safety, incentives, and rewards. They will work as part of a collaborative HR Team.

Responsibilities

- Lead the full cycle recruitment for both union and non-union positions
- Coordinate the employee onboarding, orientation, and safety training
- Maintain accurate employee records
- Support employee relations and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation

Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management
- 1 – 3 years HR experience preferred; however, recent graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply
- Detail oriented and resourceful self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills with sound written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to handle sensitive issues in a professional manner
- Experience in dealing with the public, handling inquiries, and working in a deadline-oriented environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy is essential along with well-established organization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities while recognizing priorities
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and database applications
- Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset
- Dayforce HRIS/payroll system (Ceridian) experience is an asset
