Yama Vans is hiring an experienced Mechanical Designer/Engineering Technologist who thrives on precision, structure, documentation, and manufacturing discipline.

This is not a creative design or conceptual engineering role, but functions as the backbone of our engineering operations, with ownership of CAD → BOM → ERP → Production process.

If you love accurate drawings, solid CAD models, clean BOMs, and organized data, you’ll excel here.

Responsibilities

- Create detailed and accurate CAD models, drawings, BOMs in Solidworks

- Create, update, organize BOMs in line with ERP requirements

- Create production and fabrication ready drawings

- Generate CNC files (3 axis), sheet material nesting, and 2D drawings

- Maintain CAD, drawing, and BOM standards

- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Production to ensure data accuracy

Requirements

- 5+ years experience in manufacturing documentation or drafting (mechanical engineering tech, draftsperson or similar role)

- Strong proficiency in Solidworks (assemblies, drawings, BOMs)

- Extremely detail oriented and disciplined in following standards

- Experience with ERP/MRP systems

- Understanding of manufacturing principles (sheet metal, fabrication, tolerancing)

- Mechanical engineering technology diploma, or equivalent

This role is documentation focused, not a creative design role, and is perfect for someone who loves details, organization, and discipline.
