GIS Analyst

A&A Trading Ltd. is a family business established over 40 years ago. We have grown from a small log brokerage firm into a significant sized forest management and log marketing company. We operate on Vancouver Island, the Mainland Coast, and Haida Gwaii on our own licenses as well as on behalf of our communities and Indigenous partners.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a GIS Analyst to join us full-time in our Campbell River, BC office. This is a fully on-site role; there is no remote or field work.

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with a strong interest in forestry and GIS. Finding the right fit is our top priority: we want a team member who shares our values, works well with others, and brings a positive, solutions-focused attitude.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Create, update, and manage geospatial layers and tabular data.

- Analyze and integrate data from multiple sources to support forestry projects.

- Maintain GIS databases and systems for efficient data access and storage.

- Develop workflows and quality control processes to ensure data accuracy.

- Produce maps and visual outputs for staff and clients.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain GIS concepts and analyses to non-technical staff.

- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.

- Experience with forestry-related GIS on BC Crown lands, including operational mapping and tenure management.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of experience with ESRI software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).

- Degree or diploma in GIS, Forestry, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the forestry or natural resource sector.

Salary Range: $75,000 + annually
