Continuing Care Assistant

We are searching for Continuing Care Assistants to join our new Moody Hall Enhanced Care team based in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
Opened in November 2024, Moody Hall will be home to 144 residents and will feature private suites and washrooms, ample natural light, wider hallways, and new equipment. The home is designed with six neighbourhoods for 24 residents. Every neighbourhood has dedicated nursing stations, dining rooms, living rooms, libraries and activity spaces.
At Moody Hall, we will introduce our innovative Main Street, a purposefully designed space that creates a charming, small-town atmosphere encouraging independence and community spirit among residents.
Main Street is a vibrant hub that includes a cozy café, a town hall, theatre, chapel and schoolhouse.
Together, these features create an inviting, community-focused environment for social interaction and personal independence, making Moody Hall a unique and enriching place to call home.

- Approximate Hourly Wage: $19.11 - $24.10

About the Opportunity
- Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as: bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment;
- Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan;
- Assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis;
- Assists with light housekeeping duties
- Performs delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice;
- Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor.
About You
- You have a valid Continuing Care Certification or Provincial Personal Care Worker course or equivalent;
- You are registered in Nova Scotia's CCA registry as per the Continuing Care Assistants Registry Act
- You can work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays;
- You can provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening;
- Alzheimer's and Dementia Care course considered an asset;
- Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset;
- Valid CPR & First Aid Certification preferred.
