Euraxess research field: History (music history)
- Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high-level scientific record in accordance with UGA's ambitions and standards. They must identify with UGA's values, being open to the world, emphasizing ethics and scientific integrity, showing an interest in teamwork, and being committed to the community. They should also have a sense of responsibility, particularly regarding environmental and social issues.
Teaching profile:
- The successful candidate will teach in the UFR Arts et Sciences humaines (School of Human and Social Sciences), a multi-disciplinary unit comprising departments of history, art history and archaeology, musicology, philosophy, and social geography.
- Most teaching will be provided to students in the musicology degree course and in the MEEF Master's in Music Education and Choral Singing. They may also teach as part of cross-disciplinary undergraduate courses at the UFR level and give lectures in master's history courses.
- The scope of teaching will mainly cover the history of music and musical analysis, with skills required in at least one of the following technical subjects: choral conducting, writing, accompaniment, or musical training.
- The successful candidate will be expected to be part of the teaching team, deliver courses across the range of subjects offered by the musicology department, taking into account their specialism, and engage actively in the collective organization of teaching.
- They will participate in collective tasks of the School and be involved in common projects at both the UFR and Faculty of Humanities, Health, Sports and Societies (H3S) levels.
Research profile:
- The research of the successful candidate should be in the field of end of eighteenth- and/or nineteenth-century music history and align with one of the four areas of research of the LUHCIE laboratory.
- They will be expected to have national recognition in their field of expertise, enhancing the laboratory's activities through their ability to initiate, lead, and participate in research projects within the laboratory and in collaboration with other teaching and research establishments at local, national, and international levels.
- The successful candidate will participate in structuring projects of the Grenoble site associated with the laboratory (CDP, SFR Création, etc.).
- They will develop their research themes within the multidisciplinary perspective of the laboratory by creating joint projects, particularly in the field of cultural history, with other historical periods and disciplines (mainly history and art history) active in the laboratory.
- They will also be fully involved in the structures of the host laboratory and be a driving force behind the laboratory's scientific projects.
