The Logistics Specialist is integral to ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of logistics activities by proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges. This role involves providing expert support and guidance to team members and stakeholders. It requires a strong understanding of logistics networks, procedures, and systems, along with in-depth knowledge of the freight market, customs regulations, and transportation safety and compliance best practices.

What would be your main responsibilities as a Logistics Specialist?
Coordination and Planning:
- Proactively identify and address potential issues in logistics operations, taking swift and independent action to resolve challenges while providing guidance to team members.
- Leverage advanced knowledge of the freight market and diverse transportation modes to optimize routes, negotiate competitive rates, and foster strong relationships with carriers and service providers.
- Lead cross-functional projects to identify opportunities for improvement within the logistics department, driving innovation and excellence in operations.
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the go-to expert for logistics policies and procedures, offering valuable insights and guidance to teammates, account managers, and product managers to support informed business decisions.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to colleagues within the logistics team, as well as other departments, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development across the organization.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and brainstorming sessions, driving KPI teams toward achieving measurable results that enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
Negotiation and Compliance:
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the freight market and various transportation modes to optimize logistics routes, negotiate favorable rates, and maintain strong relationships with carriers and providers.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of customs regulations and documentation requirements, ensuring proper documentation and compliance for both import and export activities.
Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Management:
- Actively participate in continuous improvement programs and brainstorming efforts, leading KPI teams to achieve positive outcomes that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.
- Mentor and guide team members on core values, professional behavior, communication, and other key aspects of career development.
- Maintain up-to-date expertise in the transportation of dangerous goods (TDG), International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) regulations, and best practices for food safety during transportation.
What are the main qualifications needed to have success in this Logistics Specialist position?
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in logistics or a related industry.
- Deep expertise in logistics policies, procedures, and systems.
- Advanced knowledge of the freight market and various transportation modes.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in mentoring and developing team members.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (OTM), E1, and Salesforce.
- Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement and achieving positive outcomes.
- Comprehensive understanding of customs regulations and documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with the transportation of dangerous goods (TDG), International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG), and food safety best practices during transportation.

British Columbia Applicants: The annual base pay range for this position is reasonably expected to be $71,600 to $111,900. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is only a part of the total rewards package - this role will also be eligible for a generous incentive program and benefits. Quadra's salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. Please note that the base pay shown qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
