We are currently looking for an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer (Azure) with hands-on experience developing automation and modernizing applications in Cloud native architecture.

Responsibilities:

1. Gather and analyze requirements. Work with project managers, architects, other developers, and customer representatives to define and document requirements. Break down project requirements into development tasks. Provide scope and estimates.
2. Translate project scope into user stories which will be developed in sprints.
3. Build end-to-end DevOps pipelines for large and medium scale projects. This includes review and configuration of supplied technology frameworks/architecture to be used on projects. Create architecture documents and diagrams.
4. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline software development and testing.
5. Define design, implement, and deploy monitoring, metrics, and logging systems.
6. Design and document efficient DevOps operational practices.
7. Present solutions to managers, architects, and developers.
8. Practice continuous improvement. Continuously increase quality and drive business value while decreasing effort.
9. Share knowledge with colleagues and the rest of the organization.

Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of proven experience with DevOps/Infrastructure implementations, migrations, and upgrades within the Microsoft Azure cloud solution suite.
2. Experience with CI/CD automation tools such as Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, Bamboo, or Spinnaker.
3. Experience with infrastructure as code software tools such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, etc.
4. Working knowledge of common scripting languages, such as Bash, PowerShell, using Azure CLI, etc.
5. Experience with container platforms, such as Kubernetes and Docker, including the multi-level networking environments these platforms use. Automated Container-based deployment skills using tools such as Azure DevOps, Git Hub, Terraform, Jenkins, Vagrant, or other containerization orchestration tools are also required.
6. Familiarity with Azure Lighthouse is very desirable.
7. High level understanding of DevOps culture, methodologies, coding, and automation.
8. Direct experience implementing end-to-end DevOps pipelines.
9. Experience with serverless technologies (PaaS, FaaS).
10. Experience with writing code to interface with APIs (REST, possibly SOAP).
11. Experience with writing code to interface with databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
12. Familiar with various configuration file formats (JSON, XML, YAML).
13. Proficiency with Agile development methodologies and experience working in a scrum team.
14. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
15. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
16. Ability to learn fast and adapt to change.
17. Bachelor's degree in computer science/Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience (with a focus on Azure).
18. Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert certification is recommended and preferred.

This is a minimum 6 month contract remote based position in Toronto, ON.
