Additionally, experience in creating complex visualizations using libraries like D3.js is essential. This role is more development-focused than design-centric, requiring deep collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, and Development Teams to ensure that the technical architecture and user experience meet business objectives and user needs.
The UX Architect is responsible for defining and implementing information architecture, user flows, and scalable design systems, while also actively contributing to front-end development. This position demands an individual who can translate requirements into actionable designs, write and review code, and ensure the delivery of highly performant, accessible, and user-friendly solutions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a React expert, with the ability to write, review, and optimize code for highly scalable, component-driven architectures.
- Develop complex, interactive visualizations using D3.js or similar open-source libraries, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Convert functional requirements into detailed technical requirements and implementable solutions that align with user needs and technical constraints.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless integration of user interface designs, focusing on both usability and technical feasibility.
Requirement Analysis and Architecture:
- Collaborate with Product Management to refine business requirements and align them with technical feasibility.
- Translate high-level business and functional requirements into detailed wireframes, information architecture, and interaction design specifications.
- Build and maintain design systems and interaction patterns to ensure consistency across platforms.
Visualization and Design:
- Design and implement highly interactive, data-heavy visualizations and workflows for complex analytics platforms.
- Ensure that all visualizations are accessible, performant, and scalable for large datasets.
- Use prototyping tools and custom development to create high-fidelity models for validation.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Development Teams to drive shared understanding of project goals and ensure delivery of quality solutions.
- Lead discussions with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges and validate design and development decisions.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Innovation and Problem-Solving:
- Proactively propose solutions for evolving user and technical requirements, integrating cutting-edge visualization techniques.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, frameworks, and libraries to ensure innovative and competitive designs.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years in UX/UI design and development, with a strong focus on front-end engineering.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with React and related frameworks (e.g., Redux, React Router).
- Visualization Expertise:
- Proven experience in building complex visualizations using libraries such as D3.js, Chart.js, or similar open-source tools.
- Strong understanding of data-driven UI components and workflows.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in React, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, with a focus on component-driven development and state management.
- Strong skills in performance optimization and debugging for complex, data-heavy applications.
- Design Knowledge:
- Expertise in wireframing, prototyping, and developing interaction models using tools like Figma.
- Strong understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and best practices for usability and accessibility (WCAG).
- Collaboration Skills:
- Proven ability to work effectively with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate technical solutions and design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Portfolio: A robust portfolio showcasing complex visualization projects and experience with scalable, user-centric solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Domain Experience: Experience in the semiconductor or manufacturing analytics industries is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with micro-frontend architectures and modular design principles.
- Knowledge of back-end technologies and API integration.
