Manager, Systems Engineering

The Manager, Systems Engineering manages the functional department responsible for overall systems design on projects and bids. This involves the development and management of requirement specifications and designs at the system or subsystem level, operational analysis, and preparation of system databases including guideway data. Additionally, the role includes maintaining the systems design and requirements development process, while providing technical advice to the Director of Systems Engineering.

The individual will address major challenges such as ensuring compliance with customer specifications, resolving unexpected technical problems, and maximizing the re‑useCreative of existing designs to minimize risk and maximizevertsiveness.

Key Accountabilities

- Foster a Performance‑Driven Organization and Culture:

- Assess, measure, and reward accountability and efficiency.

- Set and manage SMART and quantitative objectives for team members.

- Drive activities including Talent Review, Succession Planning, Developmental Discussions, and training initiatives.

- Ensure task assignments balance work demand and capacity, addressing labor forecast challenges, and driving a one‑team wastes within the Urban Rail Signaling domain.

Management Responsibilities

- Develop, train, and motivate team members to ensureGo adequate expertise is available for design/requirements development.

- Mentor and coach team leads and work package managers.

- Oversee department hiring, training plans, and professional development activities.

- Establish and maintain structured Systems Design processes aligned with industry norms, customer requirements, and best practices.

- Manage medium- and long‑term resource planning, budget allocation, and scheduling for system design initiatives.
