Calgary, Canada Fueling Brains Full time

A Float Teacher plays a vital role in ensuring continuity and consistency across the childcare center by assisting in various classrooms, supporting lead teachers and assistant teachers, and stepping in during breaks, absences, or transitions. This is a flexible role requiring adaptability, strong communication skills, and a passion for working with children.

Our classrooms are inspired by the Fueling Brains philosophy with a focus on development of executive functions. These innovative spaces are where creativity, imagination, social skills, and children’s interests determine the curriculum. The Float Teacher will work under the supervision of the Lead Teacher to create a learning environment that inspires children to think outside of the box and explore and engage with their senses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Collaborate with other teachers to set up learning spaces and prepare materials.
- Child Engagement and Development
- Interact with children to support the development of their executive functions.
- Encourage positive behavior, independence, and cooperation among children.
- Observe and document children’s activities and share insights with lead teachers when required.
- Communication and Teamwork
- Build positive, respectful relationships with children, parents, and staff members.
- Work closely with lead teachers and support staff to ensure consistency and collaboration across the center.
- Communicate any concerns or observations about children’s behavior or development with the lead teacher or center director.
