The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of NAC’s premises. This role requires completing cleaning tasks thoroughly, on schedule, and with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include ensuring the upkeep of the head office, equipment and fitness facility, and the NAC company house. Primary focus areas include lunchrooms, offices, the front lobby, hallways, stairwells, and washrooms.

The Janitor is expected to follow the established cleaning schedule and clean and prepare common areas, such as meeting rooms and the front lobby, including straightening chairs, organizing signs and paperwork, and ensuring all spaces are presentable.

Key cleaning duties include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, cleaning glass, emptying garbage bins, running and unloading dishwashers, refilling dispensers, and cleaning out two refrigerators weekly.

Position Responsibilities

- Full vacuum of carpeted floors and walk-off mats, sweep and damp mop tiled/laminated floors daily.

- Spot clean walls, floors, carpet, doors, light switches, stairwells, etc.

- Sanitize common touchpoints (office keyboards, phones, railings, light switches, etc.).

- Clean reception lobby glass including front doors and meeting room doors.

- Dust common areas and offices. Dust all furniture (high and low) including track and pot lights, desks, chairs, tables, shelves, ledges, filing cabinets, bookcases, picture frames, ducts, etc.

- Empty wastebaskets and recycling containers (in offices, kitchens, and copy rooms), replace liners as required, and spot clean exterior. Collect cardboard from designated areas and break down all cardboard before disposing in recycling containers (located in the south parking lot).

- Sanitize washrooms including toilet bowls, urinals, hand basins, and taps.

- Vacuum and dust stairwells, and remove all debris nightly.

- Weekly, thoroughly clean offices (behind and under desks, etc.)

- Stage meeting rooms and front lobby, straighten papers and chairs in all meeting rooms, etc.

- Maintain stock of soap, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, etc., in all washrooms and kitchens.

- Clean and sanitize showers/washrooms on the lower level nightly.

- Bi-weekly cleaning of corporate home located at 5 Currie Drive including, vacuuming, mopping, bathroom sanitization, dusting, window and glass cleaning, collecting garbage and recycling, cleaning out the fridge of expired food, wiping countertops/sink and appliances.

- Provide additional cleaning duties as required.

Requirements

- Well‑organized and professional individual with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite

- Excellent telephone skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills: communication, listening, and the ability to work independently, or as part of a team

- High level of integrity and strong attention to detail are crucial for this role
