Overview

The Assistant Buyer defines the luxury lifestyle shopping experience by building lasting relationships with our people, customers and partners. By providing operational support to Buyers, the role drives sales volume, gross margin and full‑price sell‑through objectives.

Responsibilities

- Monitor sales and margin performance and interpret variances against budget and forecast.

- Assist in purchase order creation, tracking, open‑to‑buy reporting and confirmation accuracy.

- Conduct follow‑up with vendors to resolve related distribution issues and support forecast preparation.

- Participate in monthly/seasonal markdown sessions and prepare pre‑market analysis.

- Partner with Buyers and Planners to create financial plans and prepare seasonal business reviews.

- Track stock levels, recommend repeat orders, consolidate inventory and manage in‑season sales analysis.

- Maintain strong vendor relationships and coordinate shop‑floor product knowledge sessions, contests and road‑tour information.

- Coordinate trunk shows, special events and personal appearances, and manage sample inventory from ordering to return.

- Prepare presentations, media kits and event materials while complying with Health & Safety policies.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

- 1–2 years of post‑university retail experience.

- Sound knowledge of purchasing principles, retail math and analysis tools.

- Demonstrated leadership, influencing skills and the ability to get things done.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective written & verbal communication.

- Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and change, and highly service‑oriented.

- Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
