Job Description

The District of Nipissing is expanding its ACP coverage across the District. There are multiple full-time ACP positions available at various bases. We encourage interested applicants to review our posting.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an approved paramedic program as defined in Legislation by the province of Ontario;

• Registered Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant in the Province of Ontario;

• Certification to the level of Advanced Care Paramedic in the Province of Ontario;

• Qualified to be employed as an Advanced Care Paramedic as per DNSSAB policy and current legislation;

• Hold valid certification authorized by the Medical Director from Health Sciences North Centre for Prehospital Care (HSNCPC) at the minimum level of an Advanced Care Paramedic within the Province of Ontario;

• Minimum of one year experience as a Primary Care Paramedic is preferred;

• Physically and psychologically able to successfully perform the full range of duties required of an Advanced Care Paramedic in various geographic settings;

• Highly motivated, empathetic, and responsible for essential workplace activities;

• Effective advocate for patients with exceptional active listening skills and professionalism;

• Capacity/resiliency to manage occupational stressors likely encountered in the role;

• Effective communication skills for public and interagency speaking.
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Police Record Check - Vulnerable Sector, within three (3) months is a requirement.
