Responsibilities
Reporting to the District Manager, this role is responsible for:
- Overseeing the Kingston, Ontario contract areas with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario;
- Leading the management team in planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of the road and bridge maintenance program within the designated contract areas;
- Meeting or exceeding our contractual obligations to the MTO and other regulatory agencies;
- Maintaining a productive and safety conscious workforce;
- Creating and Monitoring area budgets;
- Evaluating and developing revenue opportunities;
- Developing staffing and succession plans;
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
- A thorough understanding of MTO specifications and quality assurance program;
- Proven interpersonal and leadership skills;
- Understanding labour agreements, employment and Health and Safety legislation;
- Excellent communication, organizational and decision-making skills;
- Proficient computer knowledge and ability to navigate industry programs;
- Prior experience working within a union environment is an asset.
This is a non-union, salaried, management position. Compensation and benefits will be based on the experience of the successful candidate.
