About the Role

The Housing Rebuild Project Manager plays a vital leadership role in restoring 19 homes lost during the 2023 Bush Creek East Wildfires as part of SteS Recovery & Rebuild Initiative. This is a position that combines strategic oversight with hands‑on project management to deliver safe, high‑quality homes that meet community needs and regulatory standards. Working closely with the Executive Director of Administration and the Project Coordinator, the Housing Rebuild Project Manager will guide every phase of construction, from site preparation to final walkthroughs, ensuring work is completed on time, on budget, and in full compliance with all codes and funding requirements. This role involves coordinating contractors, trades, engineers, and government partners, while maintaining open communication with community members returning home. Ideal candidates bring proven construction management expertise, a collaborative leadership style, and a deep commitment to quality, accountability, and community well‑being.

This is a full‑time permanent position, with the opportunity for a hybrid work environment. As a majority of the role is in‑person/onsite, the successful candidate is required to be located in the Skwlāx (Kamloops, Chase, Salmon Arm) region. Offering a competitive salary $85,000‑$100,000, this opportunity includes a comprehensive compensation package and relocation support.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the end‑to‑end construction phase of the 19‑home rebuild project, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.

- Collaborate with the Executive Director of Administration and Project Coordinator to align construction activities with overall recovery program objectives and reporting timelines.

- Oversee site preparation, grading, and infrastructure installation, including water, septic, and electrical systems.

- Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, utility providers, and contractors to ensure lots are fully serviced and construction‑ready.

- Direct and coordinate general contractors, tradespeople, and vendors during all phases of construction and installation.

- Implement and manage a quality assurance process, including inspections, deficiency tracking, and sign‑off procedures.

- Support homeowner walkthroughs, inspections, and post‑construction deficiency remediation in coordination with the recovery team.

Your Toolkit

- Post‑secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in residential or community‑scale construction project management.

- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, permitting, building codes, and project delivery frameworks.

- PMP (Project Management Professional) designation or equivalent is preferred.

- Demonstrated experience with contract administration, scheduling, risk management, and quality control.

- Experience managing residential rebuilds, especially in post‑disaster or Indigenous contexts, is considered an asset.

- Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to lead cross‑functional teams and collaborate with community members, trades, and government stakeholders.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and construction management software.

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.
