Job Title: Survey Technologist
Our client is a global firm with decades of industry experience and a rich history of groundbreaking projects, always with a focus on community development. With a solid track record and culture of delivering design and project engineering services to clients, their Surveyor group seeks to add an individual to their Waterloo, Ontario office.

This position involves supervising a dedicated team of survey technologists and technicians, as well as liaising with clients and team leads from other disciplines. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic work environment managing multifaceted projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of Project Management, including preparing proposals, project research, computations, field and office staff supervision, plan review, signing plans, reporting, and timely delivery of final returns.
  • Supervise survey calculations, analysis, and final plan checking, while maintaining strong client relations.
  • Act as Owner's Representative for multiple projects, ensuring scope, budget, and schedule adherence.
  • Communicate daily with clients and project teams.
  • Monitor projects from initiation through delivery, interfacing with clients on technical matters.
  • Collaborate with project team members, including registered surveyors, engineers, and technical/survey staff.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Geomatics, Surveying, or a related field, with a minimum of 7-8 years of experience.
  • Experience in managing geomatics projects and/or being a Licensed Ontario Land Surveyor.
  • Proficiency with GPS and total station survey equipment.
  • Experience with survey computational and least squares adjustment software (Micro Survey and AutoCAD) is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and self-motivation.
