**Job Summary** Strategic Role **Consequence of Error/Judgement** Must be able to work independently and exercise extensive judgment and decision making in providing a triage function for major operational and/or reputational issues affecting UBC as a whole; developing policies and procedures for the smooth operation of the Office; identifying and bringing forward key issues. Every action and decision made could have significant impact on the reputation of the university; on its operations; as well as the general public, government, private industry and the community's view of the President's role as Chief Executive Officer of the University and his position in the academic world. **Supervision Received** Works independently per the general direction set by the President. **Supervision Given** Is responsible for the management of office staff which includes hiring, training; dismissal and performance appraisal. **Minimum Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications**
