Position Overview

Calian is excited to invite a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team at CFB Kingston. This full-time or part-time role offers the unique opportunity to serve as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing high-quality primary care to Canadian Armed Forces members. As a Nurse Practitioner with Calian, you will play an essential role in delivering comprehensive health services, including primary care, health promotion and disease prevention while having access to a robust multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities

- Performs comprehensive health assessments using sound clinical judgment, diagnostic and therapeutic skills.
- Practices autonomously and is solely accountable for his/her actions while practicing.
- Consults with physicians or other health care professionals when the client's condition requires care beyond the scope of NP practice.
- Makes appropriate medical employment limitation recommendations in accordance with the Surgeon General's guidelines.
- Prescribes medications and orders x-rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests in accordance with the Standards of Practice for RNs in the Extended Class
- Implements strategies to promote health and prevent illness with individuals, families or groups.
- Collaborates on the management of Members with stable chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and asthma) through a predetermined referral process.
- Refers patients to other providers or programs according to the patient's need.

Qualifications

- Licensed and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Ontario
- Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C

Additional Requirements

- You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
