OVERVIEW
The Technician Packaging Maintenance is responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of all packaging machinery. This position is on a Continental shift rotation in which you will report to the Packaging Maintenance Supervisor.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure the safe and reliable operation of all packaging machinery.
2. Report any equipment deficiencies immediately to the Maintenance Supervisor.
3. Involvement in the company Continuous Improvement program.
4. Work in accordance with the Redpath Health and Safety program.
5. Contribute to a positive workplace environment.
6. Work closely with the Production Supervisor to prioritize jobs and minimize production downtime.
7. Consider the long-term sustainability of all activities and endeavor to reduce, reuse, and recycle resources in line with ASR policy.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workplace health and safety matters relevant to your work.
9. Exhibit positive collegial behaviors.
10. Maintain packaging area upkeep and cleanliness to the highest industry standard.
11. Perform packaging machine changeovers when required.
12. Complete scheduled PM work and close work orders.
13. Able to troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment.
14. Mechanical and electrical experience.
15. Able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize according to business needs.
16. Good communication skills, written and verbal, complete shift reports with accurate information.
WORK EXPERIENCES
1. 1 to 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Knowledge of SAP would be an asset.
3. Basic knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs.
4. Knowledge of electrical circuits and power supplies, gearboxes, motors, and pneumatics.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Millwright and/or Electrical Trade (309A/442A) designation required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
1. No
2. Ability to:
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Use hands and arms to reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and manipulate materials and tools.
- Walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs frequently throughout the shift.
- Reach, bend, twist, rotate, push, and pull frequently.
- Work independently as well as a team player.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and OT if required.
- Must be able to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as but not limited to protective footwear, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
- Must regard safety as a core value; must be able to work safely and in a proficient manner.
