Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.
The opportunity
We are currently looking to fill one new opportunity for a Full-Time Rehabilitation Worker in our Post Stroke Transitional Care Program in Timmins, ON.
Starting wage: $23.35 per hour. This compensation is inclusive of a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training and paid leave.
Hours:35 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized support services plans within the home and/or community for adults with a stroke.
- Provide services on a flexible basis during weekday business hours
- Reporting responsibilities including daily log note recording, develop service plans, and verbal reports as required
- Participate in training as required
- Follow policies and procedures as required
Qualifications and experience
- Post Secondary diploma in Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant program preferred or diploma in Human or Social Services
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Human Services field and/or working with people with a stroke
- Current CPR, First Aid is an asset
- Access to vehicle to use for business and valid driver’s license
- Proven consistency in work performance, including reliability and flexibility
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Sound problem solving skills
- Proven ability to work independently / autonomously
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- French-English bilingualism an asset
