As an Assistant Director, your key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting excellence in the delivery of Kepler Academy's core foundation
  • Providing a positive work environment, relevant feedback, communication to employees and families, proper nutrition, and planning daily activities
  • Managing overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the centre
  • Operating in a professional manner and ensuring Kepler standards are being met and compliance is always maintained
  • Providing oversight and direction to employees in the centre
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing staff, including new employee onboarding and career development planning and opportunities
  • Maintaining transparent communication and building strong relationships with families
Your Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a department and staff members
  • Proven leadership in promoting a positive workforce environment
  • Strong work ethic, excellent organization, and time management skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Computer literacy: strong skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other systems
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Provincial Child Care Regulations and basic economics, budgeting, accounting principles and practices

Required qualifications to work at Kepler Academy:

  • A minimum of 3 years Early Childhood experience in the Childcare industry
  • A minimum of one (1) year in a management role is an asset but not required
  • Postsecondary education in a business-related field or experience with finances and budgeting would be an asset
  • Child Development Supervisor Certificate or equivalent education from a college approved in line with Child Care Regulations
  • Standard First Aid certificate
  • Current criminal record check, including vulnerable sector search
