Salary Range: $55.44 - $65.18 /hour

St. Joseph's Health Care is willing to consider applicants who are eligible for Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN). This program provides $25,000 in grant funding to eligible RPNs/RNs/Nurse Practitioners/Clinical Nurse Specialists in exchange for a two-year full-time commitment. The Mental Health Care Program provides care to individuals and their supports experiencing severe and persistent mental health challenges. The Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery Model is the overarching philosophical framework in which an interdisciplinary team delivers care. This philosophy emphasizes client and family involvement in decision-making, client choice, and a commitment from mental health services professionals to achieving the best possible outcomes for clients based on their stated preferences, wishes, desires, and life plans.

Essential Qualifications

- Current Registration with the CNO
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MScN) or Masters of Nursing (MN)
- Superior interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills to effectively work within an interdisciplinary team setting
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills in complex clinical and non-clinical situations
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of adult learning, coaching, and mentoring principles
- Advanced knowledge and skills with a multi-system focus in mental health assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, consultative support, and evaluation specific to the care of patients with mental illness
- Ability to demonstrate a facilitative teaching approach with patients, families, staff, and community partners
- Demonstrated experience in conducting and/or promoting research use in practice
- Demonstrated shared leadership experience
- Previous teaching experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills and clinical reasoning skills
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA

Preferred Qualifications

- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Certification (or willingness to pursue certification) in and/or experience with the use of psychiatric rehabilitation interventions with individuals who are living with severe and persistent mental illness.
- Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical experience

Immunization Requirements

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
