JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Project Controls Specialist.

Reporting to the Manager, Project Controls, this position will have the opportunity to contribute to Ontario Power Generation by coordinating and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, while supporting schedules & cost for the assigned projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Coordinate, facilitate, and drive the Front-End Planning Process.
- Create, develop, and maintain updated and accurate project schedules, perform monthly schedule updates and cost analysis. Develop WBS based on scope of work.
- Perform cost management for projects in accordance with OPG's project management governance.
- Set up applicable source systems (AS9, EcoSys, ePMX etc.) as required and ensure alignment with project control systems. Maintain alignment between source systems and project control systems throughout project life cycle.
- Facilitate project metrics reporting and variance analysis. Identify actual and potential deviations from the approved annual, release or life cycle budgets or schedules to the Project Manager. Recommend corrective actions. Create and issue timely project status reports.
- Prepare Risk Management plan with support from other project team members.
- Prepare and obtain approval of applicable change control documentation. Process changes through approved change control processes.
- Assist with development and continuous improvement of the project controls information system.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 4-year university degree, with preference given to engineering, business, or finance.
- 6 to 8 years is considered necessary in project planning, scheduling, risk management, and control, preferably within a Nuclear, Hydroelectric or Thermal generating facility.
- Project Management Profession (PMP) certificate, and/or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) certification is considered an asset.
- Clear understanding of project controls principles, theories, and concepts such as project scoping, risk management, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Advanced user of P6 & EcoSys.
- Experience with the application of work methods, resourcing of work, and logical sequencing of events and resolution of common problems in these areas.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.
