Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Indigenous Recruitment Liaison will be responsible for recruiting and retaining Indigenous candidates for our employment opportunities. This position will involve developing and implementing recruitment strategies, working collaboratively with community partners, and engaging with the Indigenous population to obtain career opportunities within our organization.

This position is responsible for increasing awareness of employment and educational opportunities while providing culturally relevant recruitment support and guidance. The liaison will work closely with Indigenous students, job seekers, and community leaders to facilitate access to career pathways, student placements, and other growth opportunities. The role will be centered on ensuring that recruitment practices align with cultural values and best practices while promoting Indigenous participation and inclusion.

Qualifications:

1. A post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Indigenous Studies or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
2. An individual who is of Anishinabe ancestry with understanding of Anishinabe history, culture, traditions, ceremonies and values is preferred.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Indigenous communities, ideally in a recruitment, education, or outreach capacity.
4. Experience with recruitment and talent acquisition processes.
5. Experience with a Human Resources Information System, preferably ADP.
6. Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Manager of Human Resources in relation to service requirements.
7. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
8. Must have the ability to travel on a regular basis.
9. Must complete a criminal records check, satisfactory to Dilico.
