About the Role
We are supporting a leading organization in their search for a Contract Specialist to oversee a wide range of contracts and agreements. This is a critical role that ensures agreements are well-structured, compliant, and supportive of long-term business objectives. The successful candidate will bring strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and experience managing contracts throughout their full lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including construction, procurement, land management, vendor, lease, and commercial agreements.
- Lead the development and maintenance of standardized contract templates and processes.
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including initiation, monitoring, amendments, renewals, and terminations.
- Provide strategic input during negotiations, balancing diplomacy with assertiveness to achieve positive business outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for contract optimization and renegotiation to improve financial and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support successful contract execution.
- Conduct annual reviews of contract templates and oversee legal reviews when required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Law, Construction Management, or a related field (asset).
- Minimum 3–5 years of Canadian contracts experience in a senior or intermediate role.
- Experience in contracts management within an EPC/EPCM, construction, supply chain, or engineering environment is an asset.
- Strong background in contract drafting, negotiation, legal terms review, and contract compliance.
- Skilled in managing multiple contracts with varying complexity across different sectors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and drive results.
Remuneration for this position will consist of a base salary between $100-130K commensurate upon experience, full benefit package and robust company pension.
