We are currently hiring an Afternoon shift Dispatcher in Kitchener for a Limited Term Contract. If you're highly motivated and are ready for an exciting career that will shape the future of the foodservice industry, we want to hear from you.

Position Summary:

The Dispatcher is responsible for supporting the Delivery Driver groups for Kitchener and Whitby Branches, and is an experienced service professional who is comfortable dealing with multiple priorities and time-sensitive transportation needs. This position will take a collaborative approach to work effectively with other departments, and will ensure we stay on track with deliveries maintaining customer service excellence through effective communication and coordination.

Position status: Full-time, Limited Term Contract

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide support to driver groups for Kitchener and Whitby branches.
- Monitor transportation system on a daily basis and update.
- Coordinate and communicate late routes through Customer Relations and provide updates.
- Support the strategy goal of safety within the organization.
- Provide support to Driver Payroll and other Traffic Office administration tasks.
- Update systems for Payroll.
- Coordinate roadside and yard service calls as required to allow drivers to complete the deliveries.
- Support backhaul coordination and appointment booking.
- Schedule Courier deliveries to Customers when required.
- Coordinate contingency recoveries when required to minimize delivery delays to Customers.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- 2-3 years' experience within Transportation Industry or similar role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to support tight deadlines, and work effectively in stressful situations.
- Strong organization skills to prioritize and multi-task to support competing priorities.
- Strong problem solving, analytical skills, and decision making skills.
- Previous experience supporting Dispatch and Driver Payroll preferred.
- Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Post-secondary education in Transportation/Logistics preferred.
