SURGICAL COORDINATOR (INTRAOCULAR PROCEDURES)

Responsibilities
- answer questions from surgeons and patients regarding intraocular procedures.
- maintain tracking sheets and monthly statistical reports.
- receive and process approval of cataract surgery by medical directors.
- identify and solve problems as they arise.
- plan, organize, and schedule patients for surgery days.
- comfortable standing for long periods of time.
- detail-oriented and work with precision and accuracy.
- cross-trained for the Surgical Assistant position (once you have completed your initial training).
- support the organization’s Risk Management program by identifying and promptly reporting patient safety concerns, incidents, or potential risks to clinic management.
Qualifications
- experience in the healthcare field (an asset).
- easy to connect with others and quickly build trust.
- sense of responsibility and take your role seriously.
- thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and when you work as part of a team.
- comfortable with computers, technology, and Microsoft 365 (knowledge of EMR systems is an asset).
- organized, self-disciplined, and have excellent prioritization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- excellent communication skills.
- flexible availability Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:00pm) & occasional Saturdays.
- can travel for work/training between our three LASIK MD clinics in the region: Ottawa, Ottawa West & Gatineau.
- excellent communication skills, speak English & French (advanced intermediate level of French required).
