Intent of the process
This process will be used to staff 5 indeterminate positions.3 indeterminate positions in CFB Gagetown, NB
2 indeterminate positions in NDHQ Ottawa, ON (Carling Campus)This pool will be used to fill similar positions within the Department of National Defense with various language proficiencies in various regions.

Hold a current certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) “C” for Health Care Providers Have obtained the National Dental Examination Board of Canada (NDEB) certificate. Hold a current dental licence in a province or territory of Canada. This is a legal requirement. A candidate must have no license suspensions or disciplinary actions and must not be subject to any practice restrictions in the current or any other provincial jurisdiction Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest. Candidates must meet and maintain the above noted conditions of employment throughout their employment

EDUCATION

- Graduation with a degree from a recognized school of dentistry. In addition, for DE positions where the duties and responsibilities require it:

- A diploma in dental public health.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION

- Have obtained the National Dental Examination Board of Canada (NDEB) certificate.

- Hold a current dental licence in a province or territory of Canada. This is a legal requirement. A candidate must have no license suspensions or disciplinary actions and must not be subject to any practice restrictions in the current or any other provincial jurisdiction.

EXPERIENCE

Experience in performing dental services, including diagnosis, treatment planning, endodontic, restorative, surgical and preventive procedures, and other clinical activities consistent with recognized dental practice standards.

EXPERIENCEAE1 – Experience working within a military environment.AE2 – Experience using a Canadian Armed Forces electronic health services record and scheduling system.AE3 – Experience using Microsoft Office software.AE4 – Experience in the management of temporomandibular disorders.AE5 – Experience in treatment planning and performing the restorative phase of implant dentistry for a single posterior tooth.AE6 – Experience in supporting Dental Sleep Medicine therapy.AE7 – Experience in providing inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide and oxygen).
