Scope of the Position

The Battery Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for process development of various operations (mixing, coating, calendaring) for lithium ion battery manufacturing. This role is crucial to the scaling up of our production capabilities and improving the overall performance and reliability of our products.

Responsibilities

1. Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of electrode materials.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrode designs into the manufacturing process.
3. Scale up laboratory-scale processes to pilot and full-scale production.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to battery manufacturing.
5. Document and report findings, maintaining comprehensive records of experiments and results.
6. Understand and support cell design activities.
7. Effectively communicate project status and proactively manage risk.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering
2. Technical Background in EV battery cell development
3. Hands-on experience in lithium ion battery cell manufacturing
4. Strong understanding of electrochemical principles and materials science
5. Background in battery cell design & process
6. Demonstrated problem solving ability
7. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and suppliers
8. Ability to understand customer needs and translate into product requirements
9. Able to work independently and demonstrates inherent desire to learn and improve
