Location: Montreal, QC
Reporting to the APM Business Intelligence, the Application Specialist Level 2 will develop, implement, support, document, and provide analytical services for the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) platform. The candidate applies knowledge of Oracle database, OBIEE tools, dimensional data modeling, data warehouse design, ETL design and development using ODI, Metadata Repository (RPD) design and development, Oracle Database Tools, coupled with strong analytical skills, sound development methodologies, and best practices in business intelligence/data warehousing to develop and support BI solutions for all departments of Groupe Dynamite.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, tests, implements, and supports all aspects of the OBIEE platform, including databases, data models, data warehouse design, ETL processes using ODI, Repository (RPD) design, reporting, dashboards, performance tuning, and server processes.
- Work within prescribed change control processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with Application Portfolio groups to understand data schema and leverage existing queries and extracts into business information tools using OBIEE.
- Work in a team environment, collaborating with BI/Data Warehouse developers to understand current applications and build new solutions.
- Contribute to processes involving Microsoft SSIS ETL knowledge.
- Provide support to end-users in production and be available on a rotation to support ETL batches and OBIEE SLAs.
- Follow directions from senior Application Management team members on projects and tasks.
Qualifications and Competencies
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Information Technology.
- Retail industry experience is an asset.
- Bilingual in English and French.
- Strong knowledge of OBIEE 11g and data warehouse implementation projects.
- Proficiency in ODI 11g, OBIEE, ODI architecture, and RPD/report design.
- Knowledge of BI Publisher, PL/SQL, SQL, and performance tuning in OBIEE 11g.
- Experience with data modeling in data warehousing and Unix/Linux scripting.
- Knowledge of Weblogic administration, Oracle OLAP/Cube, and SSIS is an asset.
- Strong technical skills in data warehousing and business intelligence.
- Ability to work independently with motivation and initiative.
- Effective communication skills to educate business users about data warehousing and BI technology.
- Ability to work effectively as part of the Applications management team.
