Non-Union Job PostingAFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM FACILITATORSfor Marathon, Geraldton/Longlac Commencing : February 23, 2026 Program Duration : ongoing Hourly Rate of Pay : $40.67 per hourLocation: B.A. Parker Public School, Marjorie Mills Public School & Margaret Twomey Public School Summary: Based in play and inquiry, the intention of the program is to provide skill building opportunities for children and youth with neurodiverse learning needs from preschool to grade 12. Using a community-based approach that encourages collaboration with agencies, early years centers/hubs, and First Nation communities and/or organizations, the program will focus on the development of emotion regulation, executive functioning, and social/communication skills consistent with evidence-based practices for children with Autism and other neurodiverse learning needs. Facilitators will offer programs either on or off school site and will include a specific “outreach” component for the engagement of families. Key Responsibilities:Run programs within communities once per week at determined schoolsCollaborate with Positive Behaviour System Lead and PBS team to plan the direct program delivery of one-hour sessions, once per week that meets the social, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of children/youthParticipate in professional development and training as recommended by the Positive Behaviour System LeadConnect with multiple partners, agency professionals, Knowledge Keepers and respected Elders to schedule and organize presentations, supports and materials that are culturally responsiveDesign and develop culturally relevant promotional material for use in the communityImplement programs that are student led, based in play and inquiry, emphasize student strength/gifts while working on key skill development areas that are important to students and their familiesDesign, plan, and facilitate a variety of motivating activities aimed at engaging students in fun, recreational play activities that target individual student social/communication learning objectivesRespond to the individual needs of children and establish stable and consistent relationships with each child/youth and their families/caregiversLiaise sensitivity with parents/guardians on matters concerning their children while maintaining confidentialityEnsure that the health and safety needs of the children are met and all health and safety issues are dealt with immediately and appropriately. Ensure correct procedures are followed for administering first aid;Key Qualifications:Post-secondary graduate Child/Youth related field, Early Childhood Educator, Educational Support, Child and Youth Worker, Social Worker, Psychology, Autism and Behavioural Science or equivalentKnowledge and experience working with neurodiverse groups of children and youth an asset;Knowledge, training and experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis an asset;Program planning and facilitation experience an asset;Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job including frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching or crawlingCurrent vulnerable sector checkApplicants MUST include a complete summary of education and work experience.
