About Us

Spud is a Western Canadian online grocery delivery business comprised of a passionate team who believe that food touches every aspect of our lives, so we are advocates for sustainable farming practices, sourcing locally, treating animals humanely, and reducing food waste. We also operate our retail markets Be Fresh, Organic Acres, and Blush Lane.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Produce and maintain ads for publications across Blush Lane, SPUD & Be Fresh.
  • E nsure that design aligns with the established look and feel and stays fresh every week.
  • E nsure designs are consistent across all print ads and are in line with the current campaigns/themes Marketing is promoting.
  • Be part of the design team for all general design & print requests including supporting our office team, events team, community, warehouse, HR, Blush Lane, and keeping our brands consistent.
  • Maintain processes in regard to concept development, design, and delivery. This will mean working with a number of people to help you produce and meet your deadlines.
  • Support the team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects. This will include online and offline assets.
  • Share inspiration, discuss trends, and identify and address process improvements pertaining to creative tasks by participating in our weekly creative collaborations.
  • Help maintain design consistency by documenting, when appropriate, in a mini-creative guide.
  • Follow Brand Guide, but also able to inform and evolve our brand standards through a creative lens.
  • Stay on top of trends and innovations in design.
  • Keep on top of new tools in Adobe Creative suite.
  • Communicate with the Creative Director regarding any creative challenges and for feedback on new creative concepts for approvals.
  • Liaise effectively with clients and other team members on creative briefs.
  • E nsure all design produced meets the needs, requirements, and brand values. This may mean getting comfortable in questioning a brief and inputting/sharing ideas of ways to better meet the requirements outlined.
  • Be responsible for helping to keep the new design process in place.
Minimum Requirements
  • Completion of a formal graphic design program.
  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design for print and web.
  • Experience with producing simple animations is considered an asset.
  • You're a rock star in Adobe Creative Suite primarily using Photoshop, Illustrator, XD and a bit of InDesign. Experience with Adobe Premiere is considered an asset.
  • Do you have a passion for food and photography? As a part of your job you may need to collaborate with our in-house photographer to create mood boards for custom photography for our campaign and marketing needs.
  • Some pre-press experience is valuable.
  • May require some collaboration with our UX designers.
  • Ability to manage your own workload and priorities to meet our deadlines.
