About the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia

The Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia (WCB) is the province’s provider of workplace injury insurance. We inform and inspire Nova Scotians in the prevention of workplace injury. About the Role

The General Counsel is responsible for the provision of legal and strategic expertise, advice, and counsel on a broad range of legal issues to protect and advance the legal interests of WCB of Nova Scotia. They will provide leadership and direction to the Legal Services team and oversee all legal aspects of the organization to ensure that WCB Nova Scotia conducts operations and business activities following the Workers’ Compensation Act, regulations, and other applicable legislation related to the operations of WCB Nova Scotia.

Your Experience & Skills

- A Bachelor of Law Degree
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in a relevant field with at least five (5) years in progressive leadership/management roles.
- Experience in the workers’ compensation field and an in-depth knowledge of the Nova Scotia Workers’ Compensation Act is an asset.
- Practicing insured status with the Nova Scotia Barristers Society (or eligible to become so).
