Location: Brockville, ON – Brockville General Hospital, Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital
Schedule: Continental shifts, rotating days & nights (8–12 hours)
Pay Rate: $21.69/hour
Employment Type: Full Time
Averaging Agreement: Overtime after 88 hours

Overview

Paladin Security is looking for dedicated Healthcare Security Guards to support operations across multiple hospital sites in the Brockville, Perth, and Smiths Falls region. As a frontline representative of the hospital security team, you will help maintain a safe, professional, and supportive healthcare environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

This position requires strong communication, situational awareness, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

- Maintain a professional, visible security presence
- Greet, assist, and direct the public
- Protect clients, staff, buildings, and assets
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Conduct interior/exterior patrols and respond to emergencies
- Document and report incidents; conduct investigations as required
- Perform patient watches
- Enforce hospital policies and by-laws
- Manage access control, keys, and parking enforcement
- Support monthly safety inspections
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements (Must Have)

- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C Certificate (WSIB-approved provider)
- Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum double dose)
- Completed immunization records for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, and TB Skin Tests – Step 1 & 2

- MMR must be completed at the time of hire

- Ability to provide required immunization documentation (forms provided by Paladin)
- Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check during onboarding
- Ability to commit to full-time availability for at least 6 months
- English proficiency (oral & written)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice to Have

- Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience
- 6+ months of customer service experience
- Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)

- Applicants without these may complete Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training before onboarding
- Training is unpaid as it is a pre-requisite, but Paladin covers all costs with a 6-month commitment to the position
