Role OverviewThis is an exciting and challenging role accountable for the vision and execution of the application portfolio. You will provide customer-first advisory, solutions and technical leadership to Canada Life's Workplace Solutions, Health and Dental Claims business.
Responsibilities- Customer Relationship Management:
- Act as a trusted advisor to the business areas by proactively building relationships to understand the business' current state, short and longer-term priorities.
- Partner with preferred vendors to understand product roadmaps, recommend new solutions and ideas to drive both customer and business outcomes.
- Ensure leaders and team members cut through siloes to work together towards common goals.
- Embody our employee promise: to inspire, value and empower our talent.
- Lead a team to meet and exceed goals around delivery, adoption and support of technology services while ensuring execution excellence and team engagement.
- Contributes to team, financial, and workforce planning.
- Responsible for leading all aspects of development, support, maintenance and health of the application portfolios.
- Partner with business leaders and architects to define the application delivery strategies and options to meet client and business objectives.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize demand on the application portfolios.
- Guide and lead application leadership teams and internal and external delivery partners to deliver work packages across on premise and cloud products.
- Ensure the application portfolio's availability and resources are aligned with current and future support needs through the development of roadmaps and use of metrics.
- Ensure applications are monitored for health and security concerns to evolve the application portfolio roadmaps.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop your teams and drive high employee engagement.
- Ability to generate urgency, remove ambiguity and pivot quickly when needed– you will promote a culture of "get stuff done".
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare communications and interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels within the organization.
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or computer science or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7+ years' related experience supporting technology platforms and delivering projects/products to enable businesses capabilities.
