Sun Gro Horticulture is looking for a motivated, organized, and results‑oriented Peat Bog Manager to oversee the daily operations of harvesting, maintenance, and personnel management at our production sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Plan, coordinate, and supervise peat production activities (equipment, harvest, finance, etc.).

- Lead and motivate a team of bog supervisors.

- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) standards.

- Collaborate with logistics, mechanical maintenance, and processing departments to ensure operational efficiency.

- Prepare and manage operational budgets.

- Monitor inventory, harvesting reports, and budget performance.

- Contribute to continuous improvement of work methods and efficiency initiatives.

- Provide on-site training to employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Degree in administration or 5 years experience in operations management.

- Natural leadership and excellent communication skills.

- Strong sense of organization and planning.

- Good knowledge of heavy machinery and outdoor operations.

- Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple sites.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Knowledge of HS&E standards (an asset).

- Fluency in French and English (spoken and written).

- Valid driver’s license required.

- Planifier, coordonner et superviser les activités de production de tourbe (Équipements, récolte, préparation, etc.)

- Gérer et motiver une équipe de superviseurs de tourbière.

- Assurer la conformité aux normes de santé, sécurité et environnement.

- Collaborer avec le département logistique, l’entretien mécanique et la transformation pour garantir une efficacité optimale.

- Gérer et établir les budgets d’opération.

- Gérer les inventaires, les rapports de récolte et les suivis budgétaires.

- Participer à l’amélioration continue des méthodes de travail et à la mise en place d’initiatives d’efficacité.

- Former les employés sur le terrain.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Diplôme en administration ou expérience en gestion d’opérations.

- Leadership naturel et excellente capacité de communication.

- Sens marqué de l’organisation et de la planification.

- Bonne connaissance de la machinerie lourde et des opérations extérieures.

- Capacité à travailler de manière autonome et à gérer les priorités sur plusieurs sites.

- Maîtrise de la suite Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Connaissance des normes HS&E (un atout).

- Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (oral et écrit).

- Permis de conduire valide requis.
