After a decade in business, Chrono Aviation has expanded its fleet to 15 aircraft and employs over 200 people. Chrono is a Quebec-based airline offering planes that can accommodate between 9 and 120 passengers, exclusively for charter flights. With bases in Montreal and Quebec City, Chrono continues its expansion, reinforcing its position as a leader in the charter flight industry in Quebec and Canada.

Role and context

The Flight Dispatcher is responsible for planning, monitoring, and optimizing flights to ensure their safety, efficiency, and compliance with applicable regulations. Working closely with flight crews, maintenance services, and aviation authorities, the dispatcher coordinates flight operations, particularly for international flights, which involve specific regulatory, customs, and route planning requirements.

Key responsibilities

1. Plan and prepare flight dossiers, considering weather conditions, air routes, aircraft performance, and international regulatory requirements.
2. Ensure compliance with Transport Canada, ICAO, and other relevant aviation authorities' regulations.
3. Coordinate with air navigation services, airports, and customs agencies to ensure smooth international flight operations.
4. Optimize flight routes to reduce operational costs (fuel consumption, flight time, overflight fees).
5. Monitor flights in real-time and adjust flight plans as needed due to weather changes or operational contingencies.
6. Communicate with flight crews to provide updates and in-flight recommendations.
7. Manage emergency situations or flight deviations in collaboration with pilots and relevant authorities.
8. Verify aircraft load distribution and payload to ensure optimal balance.
9. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of flight plans and operational records.
10. Participate in the continuous improvement of dispatch procedures and policies.

Specific job requirements

1. Valid Flight Dispatcher License issued by Transport Canada.
2. Proven experience in flight dispatching, including expertise in international flight operations.
3. Strong knowledge of ICAO regulations, NOTAMs, flight plans, and international customs requirements.
4. Proficiency in flight planning and tracking software.
5. In-depth understanding of aeronautical charts, navigation, and air route optimization.
6. Experience in operational risk management and emergency handling.
7. Knowledge of fuel management policies and flight cost optimization strategies.
8. Additionally, a strong command of English is necessary to interact with English-speaking clients in Canada and worldwide.
