Our platform combines the best of AI and human intelligence to help contact centers discover customer insights and behavioral best practices, automate conversations and inefficient processes, and empower every team member to work smarter and faster. Born from the prestigious Stanford AI lab, Cresta's co-founder and chairman is Sebastian Thrun, the genius behind Google X, Waymo, Udacity, and more. Our leadership also includes CEO, Ping Wu, the co-founder of Google Contact Center AI and Vertex AI platform, and CTO & co-founder, Tim Shi, an early member of Open AI.
We've assembled a world-class team of AI and ML experts, go-to-market leaders, and top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners, Sequoia, and former AT&T CEO John Donovan. Our valued customers include brands like Intuit, Cox Communications, Hilton, and Carmax and we've been recognized by Forbes and Bain Consulting as one of the top private AI companies in the world.
Join us on this thrilling journey to revolutionize the workforce with AI. The future of work is here, and it's at Cresta.
About the role:
Are you ready to redefine real-time communication with cutting-edge AI? At Cresta, we're revolutionizing cross-language interactions through our groundbreaking voice platform. Following a successful Hackathon demo, we're seeking a technically fearless Senior Full Stack Engineer to lead the charge in transforming our real-time speech translation prototype into a scalable, production-ready solution. This role demands ownership of the entire lifecycle—from 0 to 1 to 100—as we build a platform that integrates macOS/Windows apps, server-side infrastructure, and seamless UI/UX for bi-directional translation.
This isn't just another engineering role. This greenfield project is your chance to build something from the ground up. You'll have the autonomy to shape not just the technical direction but also influence the business and marketing strategy. Your passion, creativity, and drive will determine the upper limit of this project's future. If you're tired of being a cog in a big tech machine with limited scope, this is your chance to step into a role with huge impact and even bigger rewards.
Together with team, you'll tackle:
- Server-side orchestration: Architect a low-latency endpoint to process agent audio through STT, translation, and TTS pipelines.
- Real-time UI/UX: Design intuitive interfaces for transcription, translation visibility, and integration with Cresta's existing products.
- Translation quality: Pioneer methods to evaluate and improve translation accuracy in dynamic environments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end development of Cresta's real-time translation platform, spanning client apps (Windows/macOS), server infrastructure, and user-facing features.
- Build custom virtual audio drivers to replace third-party tools. Design and optimize server endpoints for real-time audio processing (STT → translation → TTS).
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to integrate translation services and evaluate quality metrics.
- Create bi-directional translation UX flows, ensuring seamless integration with Cresta's agent assist tools and analytics platforms. Solve latency challenges to enable near-instantaneous voice translation.
- Drive cross-platform compatibility, including Windows Audio Session APIs and macOS Core Audio.
- Own deployment, monitoring, and scaling via Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
This is a rare opportunity to own a moonshot project from prototype to global impact, solving challenges like ultra-low-latency audio streaming, cross-OS compatibility, and seamless AI/UI synergy.
Qualifications We Value:
- 3+ years as a full-stack engineer with production-grade desktop app experience (Windows/macOS).
- Mastery of real-time systems: WebSockets, gRPC, audio/video streaming, and low-latency optimization.
- Proven experience with audio processing (e.g., virtual drivers, ASIO, Core Audio).
- Server-side expertise in Go/Python/Node.js/Java/C++, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and database optimization.
- UI/UX fluency: Electron, React, or native frameworks for desktop apps; ability to prototype user-centric features.
- Fearless problem-solving: Comfortable navigating unknowns (e.g., custom audio drivers).
- Ownership mindset: You thrive when leading ambiguous, high-stakes initiatives to build "from scratch" (0→1→scale).
- Bonus: Experience with speech technologies (STT/TTS), translation services, or real-time collaboration tools.
Compensation for this position includes a base salary, equity, and a variety of benefits. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable. We are actively hiring for this role in Canada. Your recruiter can provide further details.
