Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Traffic Planner position based in Mission, British Columbia. The Traffic Planner will be responsible for coordinating and implementing traffic management plans, conducting site evaluations, preparing permit applications, and working closely with clients to ensure smooth and efficient traffic operations. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, planning for infrastructure projects, and ensuring compliance with traffic safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibility:

- Prepare detailed Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) using AutoCAD, Rapidplan or Bluebeam Revu.
- Review and ensure plans comply with the BC Ministry of Transportation (MOTI), WorkSafeBC, and municipal by-laws.
- Liaise with municipal permitting departments for plan submissions and revisions.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to meet project deadlines and safety requirements.
- Conduct site assessments to validate plan feasibility and adjust as needed.
- Maintain plan library and version control for ongoing projects.
- Support the field team by providing clear and accurate drawings and instructions.

Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience in traffic management planning or civil drafting.
- Proficiency in Rapid Plan, Bluebeam Revu, or equivalent software.
- Knowledge of MOTI and local municipal standards for traffic control.
- Strong understanding of traffic flow, work zone safety, and signage requirements.
- Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5 minimum).
- TCP or LCT certification is an asset.
- Expertise in Transportation Planning and Mobility Management
- Proven experience in Traffic Management and Planning
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and preparing plans
- A degree or diploma in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Transportation, or a related field is preferred
